2010 mac a1342 what is the max ram for my computer

The ram is Kingston and it is the exact RAM the User Guide calls for. I tried installing two 2-GB sticks of 1333MHz RAM and my MacBook wouldn't boot, it just beeped, so I figured I would buy the correct RAM as specified in the manual. I just listed 2 current MacBook Pros on eBay and the 8GB memory max stuck in my mind, so I mixed up the Maximum RAM for the MacBook Pro with my MacBook. I ordered an 8GB Upgrade of the PC3-8500 RAM, it seems I got the MacBook Pro and MacBook RAM Specifications mixed up. I have a mid 2010 MacBook White with 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and matching System board running 1067MHz FSB.

I have read where some folks have upgraded their RAM in 2009 MacBooks successfully.
